Route Map From Bangalore To Kodaikanal
My Travel Date 21st April night to 22nd April : It was a lot of fun we booked an Innova as we were total 6 members including me , my husband Sashi, his parents, his friend Arti with her husband Abhinav. We left Bangalore at around 8 pm and had dinner at Saravana Bhawan in Hosur. There was rain all through the trip and because of rain there was lot of traffic jam but then also our driver drove fast enough and we reach kodaikanal at around 6 am on 22nd April. We reached the guest house and we all took rest for some time and then mom prepared rava upma for all of us and then we all went out to see local sightseeing.
GUNA CAVES: Our first destination was Guna Caves usually called Devil’s Kitchen, are deep bat-infested chambers between the three gigantic boulders that are the Pillar Rock. We reached there at around 10 am and there were herd of monkeys on the way and snatching carrots and fruits from the tourists. We reached there at around 10 am. There were herds of monkeys on the way snatching carrots and fruits from the tourists. Fortunately, we hadn’t purchased anything. Though we thought of buying carrots, we decided to not buy by looking at the monkeys. We had to walk a lot to see those pillars and the way was extremely steep. We had to take care while stepping ahead. After reaching, we saw two big pillars and took some photographs. We then went back to our cars to see the next place that is pine forests.
PINE FORESTS: Our next destination was pine forests. Pine forests consists of lot of pine trees which is difficult to see in urban cities. We took photographs there, some of the branches were so down that Arti tried to climb up the tree but she couldn’t. We took “filmy style” photos and then went to Woodlands Restaurant near Kodai bus stand and had our lunch and then went to see Kodai Lake which is our third sightseeing of the Day1.
KODAI LAKE: Our Destination of the day was Kodai Lake. Kodai Lake is the manmade lake in kodaikanal. There are lot of things we can do there like boating, cycling, horse riding etc. We all went to Kodai Lake after lunch and done boating took photographs and it was a 20 mins ride on boat, and after that sashi’s mom and dad went back to car and we four i.e. me, Sashi , Arti and Abhinav hired a cycle and enjoyed the ride around the lake. I got lost somewhere in the middle as the route was so confusing and then somehowI managed to finished the ride and reached the finishing point..
That’s all for day 1 and after that we all went back to our guest house and start preparing for dinner. We prepared Khichdi (rice mixed with dal and vegetables)and as we all were very tired and after that all of us went to sleep.
Day 2: We all got up at 7 and went to play badminton and catch catch with ball. We all were playing in an open ground some children came there and they also played with us. They were playing music with broken tin and bottles and with sticks, we all enjoyed that music and also enjoyed playing with those kids. After playing we came to guest house and had our breakfast (bread, butter, jam) and we all again went to see the rest of the sightseeing. When we left our guest house it was misty. We all went to Bear Shola Falls. Since Fairy Falls came on the way, we stopped there to take some photos and went to a place nearby called FunPark, which had games like archery, dart shooting, video games and bowling machine to name a few. So we went there and played games and enjoyed a lot. The only sad part was we couldn’t bowl as it started raining. We stayed there for some time and after having tea with the owner of FunPark, we proceeded to Bear Shola Falls. But as we were about to reach, a tourist told us that there is nothing much to see over there so we thought of skipping Bear Shola and seeing some other places. But because of rain, we were unable to see anything else. We went to one north Indian restaurant and had our lunch and purchased some eucalyptus oil and homemade chocolates and went back to our guest house. We all played Cards at our guest house and in the evening the rain stopped and we four went for a nature walk took some photos in the meanwhile mom and dad prepared dinner for us.
Day 3 : We packed our bags and were ready to go back to Bangalore. We left our guest house at around 8 am and had our breakfast in Meenakshi bhavan and moved all the way to Bangalore. On the way we saw Silver Cascade Falls which was so beautiful and took some photos (as usual) and purchased some carrots and mangoes and some fruits from there. We had our lunch at Salem which was horrible and saw a movie which was double horrible. And at around 6 pm we reached Bangalore. We dropped Arti and Abhinav to their home and then we reached our home around 7 pm and I prepared dinner for everyone.
